Why to become like othrs?

Article by Sachin Usha Vilas Joshi published in Deshdoot Times.

During my school days when any chief guests came and gave the speeches to us a common sentence was told by every one that be like some one like Shivaji maharaj, Swami Vivekanand etc. All the speakers used to tell to be like others.

In the school the principal also used tell in the assembly to be like Ram ! Ramkrishna Paramhansa, Vivekananda or any other great personality.

Teacher always used to tell to be like others- be like Shivaji be like Ambedkar but how to inculcate the thoughts and values of Shivaji in students is neither mentioned in our education system nor in the syllabus. No one can become like others. Every human being is unique . If we try a lot then also we cant become like others.

Every human being is unique in this world there is no repetition of charechers. Thousands of yesrs have passed but no one could become like Ram , shivaji or like any other famous character. Then why we are always forcing the students to copy others?

Till today we haven't told the students to be like themselves.. Rose is Rose it can’t become jasmine but our education system and parents are trying to force the Jasmine to be like Rose.

Till today the education system didn’t dare to tell the students to be like themselves. Students be like you . If you are Dhondiram then be like Dhondiram and create history but don’t copy others.

Instead of copying others you only become your role model. You are not born to limit yourself in the boundaries.

When the education system, parents , teachers will dare to tell the students to be like them then only there will be growth of the child as an individual and this is called personality development.

Every student , every person is important and valuable. In nature the things which are rare to find are valuable. Diamonds and pearls are rare in nature so they are valuable. In this world ‘ Sachin Joshi ‘ is only one and you are also one and there is no other masterpiece like you. So the things which are rare are valuable.
So every individual should think that I am important and valuable. I cannot be compared with others when this thought will be inculcated by our education system in students then every student will be happy and wil be role model for others and no one will copy others.

Actually Every student is a diamond but it is not seen by parents and teachers. A bright child is hidden in every child . We need to find out the real talent in them.

We always try to create the students of same pattern. We fix them in certain boundaries.

Rama is good , Krisna is beautiful, Mohd. Paigambar was excellent, Yeshu was outstanding but there is a challenge to develop the student as an individual.

The problem arises when the person is copying Gandhiji . We can follow him . Can’t we make our own path ?

The students should be guided by the school, teachers and they should be told to study all the role models, understand them and then create their own path.

Dont tell lotus to be like rose because lotus will waste its energy to become like rose but it will be neither lotus nor rose.

I came across an incident written by Yashwant Rao Chavan. When he was in the school one day during inspection school inspector asked one question to all the students. The question was ‘What they want to become in future and like whom? Some students told that they wanted to become Bal Gangadhar Tilak . Some told that they wanted to become like Shivaji maharaj but this child told that he wanted to become Yashwant rao chavan. In my opinion if we tell our students to become like themselves and if this thought is inculcated in each home and school every student will become happy and successful.

Youths also need to ask the same question to themselves and they should create history by becoming like themselves .
